Academic career and education

Folke Dencker is a lecturer and researcher of Nanotechnology at the Leibniz University of Hannover at the Institute of Microproduction Technology (IMPT). He obtained his Master in Nanotechnology in 2015 and started his academic career at the IMPT. In 2017, he took the lead of a workgroup with the research topics Sensors and Tribology. In his workgroup, the principal research objectives were defined by modern demands concerning process data acquisition in harsh environments driven by needs of Industry 4.0. The customized development of novel sensors as a link between the process and the digital world were his core tasks. In 2021 he became the chief engineer of the IMPT and since then is responsible for the research, personnel and finances of the institute.
