Rico Ottermann was born in Hanover in 1993. There he studied nanotechnology with a focus on physics and electrical engineering at Leibniz University Hannover. Since earning his master's degree in 2018, he has been working at the Institute for Microproduction Technology in Hannover. As head of the department "Micro and Nano Integration", he mainly deals with topics related to packaging and interconnection technology as well as direct deposition of thin-film sensor technology. In particular, this includes strain and temperature sensors for individual industrial applications with special requirements in terms of component inherence, space requirements or temperature stability. On top of that, the department addresses micro systems for biomedical applications and intelligent sensor data management in embedded systems.
