N2 - The concept of Dynamics of Periphery, featured with the Atlas forEmerging Creative Resilient Habitats, promotes an integrated understanding of territory towards the sustainability objectives of UNSDG (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals). It combines research about innovations in urbanism linked to the upscaling of initiatives in social and spatial innovation, as well as a comprehensive view of marginal situations in current metropolitan constellations. Dynamics of Periphery affirms thata creative shift in urbanism with an inclusive, cultural and value-oriented understanding of «Open Habitat» can draw new forms of linkages between space and society, city and nature. Referring to several recent research projects, the article explores the possible impact of new qualitative tools, such as explorative scenarios and narratives, for the co-production of knowledgeon urban resilience and for co-designing urban transformation.
