Description

The aim of this sub-project is to develop a deeper understanding of the mechanisms dominating the additive manufacturing process of pure titanium under an XHV-adequate atmosphere. This will be combined with drying procedures and models will be established to develop a detailed understanding of the process-environment-property relationship. Findings regarding the influence of oxygen and moisture in the powder and the process atmosphere on process stability and part properties as well as a clear differentiation of these effects are expected. In addition, the focus of research is extended to process chains and further developed process monitoring for quality assurance.
