Description

The objective of subproject is the development of full-surface material compounds with a joining zone free of oxide layers by means of compound casting. In order to be able to specifically tailor the bond properties by varying the process pressure as a further degree of freedom in addition to temperature and time, the previous gravity compound casting will be transferred to a low-pressure die casting process within an XHV-adequate atmosphere on a technically relevant scale. The research focus is on utilizing the material bond that can be established due to the absence of oxide layers to enable the transplantation of thermal spray coatings with very low porosity at low casting pressure for the first time.
