Abstract
We present an open-source, modular simulator for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) scenarios using Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) sensor systems. It provides a tangible way of understanding the influence of various system parameters on the overall process of SAR image formation. The computationally efficient phase-based FMCW data generator is backed by verification against a real laboratory sensor setup and produces realistic raw sensor data which can be exported for the verification of SAR processor systems.
