Abstract
This paper examines the structural dynamics of a wind turbine in various stages of construction. The extensive measurement instrumentation with up to 23 acceleration sensors of the OPUS 1 wind turbine of the WiValdi research wind farm in Krummendeich near Stade is presented and the assembly process of the investigated wind turbine is described. The modal parameters of the first pair of bending modes are determined for seven different assembly states from the measurement data using operational modal analysis. A finite element model is used to determine the modal parameters. The experimentally and numerically determined modal parameters are compared with each other, whereby only slight deviations are recognizable, especially for advanced construction stages.
