Abstract
The advantages of using self-compacting lightweight concrete (SCLC) are discussed. SCLC has low specific weight coupled with a high compressive strength at the same time. The use of SCLC in already built construction offers the possibility of realizing restoration work without there being any appreciable increase in the loads from the natural weight involved. The better heat-insulation capacity of SCLC makes it suitable for a wide range of applications.
