Abstract
At the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying at the University of Hanover, the program of study »Geodesy and Geoinformatics« (formerly called »Surveyinga«) has been reformed. This paper describes the principles and objectives of the reform, particularly with regard to the need to develop a common European standard of higher education. The article suggests how the study program might be better promoted and gives an outlook as to future developments with respect to the implementation of Bachelor/Master systems in geodetic education.
