Abstract

This multi-mode multi-ratio switched-capacitor DCDC converter in 28 nm CMOS technology allows for integration with an automotive or industrial microcontroller on the same die. Its versatility with respect to operating modes and wide input voltage range of 2-6 V make it suitable for a large variety of system designs with different cost and performance targets. Autotuning of the switching frequency in the resonant mode ensures zero-current-switching and efficiency-optimized operation over a range of load currents up to 1 A.
